Kim Connolly - Program Coordinator
After graduating from Dawson College as a Registered Medical Technologist in 1982, Kim began her medical technology career at the Montreal Children's Hospital where she spent 5 years performing in all laboratory disciplines - hematology; immunohematology and chemistry. She also led the development of the Pediatric Test Centre, a centralized diagnostic testing facility for children.
After that it was time to go overseas to Saudi Arabia where she began her supervisory career as the lead technologist in all medical laboratory disciplines and at the same time traveled the world.
In 1990, she began her health care management career in Toronto and later in Vancouver at BC Biomedical Laboratories. Her management style has always been focused on individual and team developments. She enjoys leading people to achieve their best. She has a true belief that all patients, colleagues and laboratory specimens deserve to be treated with dignity, respect, and integrity.
Since 1998 she has been coordinating, developing and instructing various health care programs at West Coast College of Health Care. She has followed her passion in sharing practical professional development skills with her students in the various programs at the college and various health care professions.
She continues to develop her own skills at UBC in the pursuit of her management certificate and her diploma in adult education.
