The Pharmacy Technician plays an important role in the operation of the hospital and community pharmacy. The pharmacy technician dispenses and compounds prescriptions and sterile product preparation while maintaining staff and customer/patient relations.
West Coast College was the first private institution in British Columbia to both offer the Pharmacy Technician program and have students accepted for practicum's and employment in hospitals throughout the Lower Mainland. Since the inception of this program in 1993 we have had hundreds of successfully employed graduates.

Graduates may choose to belong to a professional association such as the Canadian Association of Pharmacy Techncians.

Last graduates 100% employment in pharmacies.

This is program is for you if you have:
  • Accuracy and strong communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong manual dexterity
  • Compassion towards others
  • A desire to be part of the healthcare team
"The pharmacy technician program at West Coast College was excellent. The instructors imparted all the necessary knowledge and shared their experiences that are needed to successfully work in a pharmacy. If you study hard in the classroom and are positive and cooperative during the practicum, you will not have any difficulties finding employment. I was offered two positions immediately after finishing my practicum. At the moment I work in community and hospital pharmacies. I would recommend the pharmacy technician program to others."
